Colorado School of Mines is a small, public teaching and research university devoted to engineering and applied sciences. Mines is located on a beautiful campus at the base of the Rocky Mountains, and students enjoy more than 170 student organizations, clubs and recreational activities. All Mine’s students must complete a core sequence of classes in math, humanities, and basic sciences before choosing their majors, and the emphasis is placed on applied, hands-on learning. They are part of the Rocky Mountain Athletic Conference and participate in NCAA D2 sports. Their curriculum and research are geared toward responsible stewardship of the earth and its resources.
