Loyola University-Maryland is a private, Jesuit university located on 79 acres in suburban Baltimore, MD. As a Jesuit institution, Loyola seeks to develop the whole person through academic excellence in a liberal arts core. Majors are offered in more than 40 academic fields to the 3,863 full-time undergraduates and 2,217 graduate students. More than 60% of all students participate in study abroad, either through the 12 Loyola programs, the 8 exchange programs, or non-Loyola affiliated programs. First-year students participate in Living and Learning Communities designed around themed experiences, and sophomore initiatives are designed to help student’s gain focus through challenges, mentorship and guidance activities. Loyola participates in NCAA DI sports and offers a wide variety of club and intramural sports program as well.
