Located in Sarasota Florida, The New College is a public liberal arts institution. As the “Honor’s College” of Florida 845 undergraduates matriculate. Thirty-seven majors are offered. The only intercollegiate sport is sailing, but students can choose from 12 intramurals. Every student must complete three, four- week independent study projects, senior thesis and baccalaureate oral exam before a committee of faculty. Science facilities have state-of-the-art equipment such as a high field nuclear magnetic resonance spectrometer. The campus also boasts a marine biology research facility and laboratory.
