Paul Smith’s College is a 4-year culinary school and liberal arts college. It’s a residential campus in a rural community. Most classes have a strong hands-on experiential component. Special facilities include a sugar maple plantation, sawmill, on-campus forest, woodman/lumberjack training, student-operated restaurant, and bakery.
The most popular majors are natural resources/environmental science, personal/culinary services, business/marketing, and parks/recreation. Inter-collegiate sports include cross-country, rugby, skiing, soccer, swimming, and volleyball. Intramural sports include ice hockey, basketball, rugby, soccer, volleyball, and water polo.
