STRiV is a community-based, semi-independent residential treatment program that helps young adults manage their social, emotional, or executive skills challenges that disrupt their transition to adulthood. Their clinical programmatic structure confronts the psychological, emotional, relational, and personal barriers that get in the way of moving toward independence and fulfillment. STRiV takes an integrated approach to “whole person” wellness. This means that their programmatic and therapeutic strategies focus on the interconnected nature of the whole – mind, body, heart, and spirit – while recognizing the critical role of healthy connection and a sense of belonging. This leads to highly individualized treatment – the establishment of a plan meant for each individual student, rather than for a diagnosis. Each treatment plan is created with the student and involves the entire treatment team, to make sure we’re all on the same page. This may include strategies to help with specific executive skills, incorporate academic benchmarks, including social development, etc. Overall, STRiV students work to develop emotional awareness, build distress tolerance, practice mindfulness, improve executive functioning, and strengthen family social relationships.
