University of Notre Dame South Bend, IN

The University of Notre Dame is a private Catholic research university located in Notre Dame, an unincorporated community north of South Bend, Indiana. Notre Dame, which means “Our Lady,” in French, was established as an all-male institution in 1842. The University has been coeducational since 1972, and about 47 percent of the current student body is female. Notre Dame is home to 8,371 undergraduate and 3,362 graduate students and is organized into five colleges and one professional school.
